Stevie Wonder extends 'Songs in the Key of Life' tour, coming to Charlotte

Legendary R&B singer-songwriter Stevie Wonder has extended his fall tour celebrating his classic 1976 double album Songs in the Key of Life that will feature him playing the entire album as well as some of his other hits.

Sadly the tour is not stopping in the Triangle, so if you want to see Wonder play this class album in North Carolina you'll have to head to the Time Warner Cable Arena in Charlotte on Saturday, November 14. Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday, August 21, via Ticketmaster for $39.50 to $129.50 plus fees and tax. The Live Nation pre-sale will begin at 10 a.m. tomorrow, August 20, via their site and app.

Fleetwood Mac extends On With the Show Tour, adds NC dates

Legendary rockers Fleetwood Mac recently launched their On With the Show Tour, their first shows with Christie McVie since she left the group in 1998. Things seem to be going well because the band have just added 28 shows to the tour in early 2015.

Those new dates will bring the band to the Greensboro Coliseum on Tuesday, March 17. Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. on Monday, October 20, via Ticketmaster and the venue box office for $49.50 to $179.50. Various pre-sales will begin as early as 10 a.m. on Monday, October 13.

The group will also hit Time Warner Cable Arena in Charlotte on Saturday, March 7. Tickets for that show will also go on sale at 10 a.m. on Monday, October 20.

Jack White announces new album 'Lazaretto,' 2014 tour, heading to Charlotte

Singer-songwriter Jack White will release his second solo album Lazaretto on June 10 and he'll hit the road on world tour this summer in support of it, including a stop in North Carolina.

Jack White has yet to play a solo show in the Triangle, but the new tour will bring him to The Fillmore in Charlotte on Thursday, June 5. Kelley Stoltz will open. Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 11, via LiveNation for $45.

Pearl Jam announces fall tour, heading to Charlotte

The always popular rockers Pearl Jam are reportedly almost finished with a new album, their first since 2009, and they're hitting the road this fall on a big North American tour, presumably in support of the forthcoming album.

The band won't be stopping in the Triangle but they will be playing the Time Warner Cable Arena in Charlotte on Wednesday, October 30. Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 27, via Ticketmaster for $69.

Hopscotch announces spring road shows in NC, VA

The Hopscotch Music Festival will announce the lineup for the big 2013 shindig on April 24 and they'll follow the announcement with six shows across North Carolina and Virginia.

The first shows will be right here in the Triangle on Thursday, April 25. There will be an early and a late show at the Nightlight in Chapel Hill. The early show will feature The Snails and The Art Department and the late show will feature Last Year's Men and The Dynamite Brothers. Tickets will be $5 at the door for each show (that goes for all of the Hopscotch road shows).

Beyoncé announces The Mrs. Carter Show World Tour

Fresh off of her big performance at the Super Bowl, Beyoncé has announced a new tour dubbed The Mrs. Carter Show World Tour and while she won't be coming to the Triangle, she will be making a stop in the Queen City this summer.

The pop star will play the Time Warner Cable Arena in Charlotte on Saturday, July 27. Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday, February 15, via Ticketmaster for $47 to $252 (ouch).

Fleetwood Mac extends 2013 tour, coming to Charlotte

Fleetwood Mac have just announced new 2013 tour dates that extends their tour into the summer and adds a North Carolina stop to their itinerary.

The band will stop at the Time Warner Cable Arena in Charlotte on Monday, June 24. Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday, February 1, for $49.50 to $139.

Foo Fighters play epic 35-song set for Rock the Vote in Charlotte

Arena rock superstars Foo Fighters stopped at the Fillmore in Charlotte for a rare club show on Wednesday night to support Rock the Vote and die-hard fans were treated to a 35-song set that clocked in at just over three hours.

The band brought their A-game, rolling through a set of greatest hits combined with songs from their latest album Wasting Light, all of which sounded phenomenal. The band rocked through a cover of Tom Petty's "Breakdown" towards the end of "Dear Rosemary," which delighted the crowd.

The old classic "I'll Stick Around" was a fiery inclusion in the set and the band took on the Paul McCartney classic "Jet," a song they hadn't played since a MusicCares concert honoring McCartney earlier this year.

Foo Fighters to play 'Rock the Vote' club show in Charlotte

If you've ever wanted to see arena rock band the Foo Fighters play a rare club show, you'll have your chance during the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte.

The band will play a Rock the Vote show at the Fillmore in Charlotte on Wednesday, September 5. Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. tomorrow, Tuesday, August 21, via Live Nation for $50 (+$13 in fees). The tickets are will call only, non-transferable and limited to two per order.

Madonna announces North American tour, heading to Charlotte

Pop icon Madonna didn't waste any time taking advantage of the exposure she received performing the half time show at the Super Bowl Sunday night. She has just announced a world tour in support of her new album MDNA, which will be released on March 26.

She won't make her way to the Triangle on the tour, but will play the Time Warner Cable Arena in Charlotte on Thursday, November 15. Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. on Monday, March 5 via Ticketmaster. Prices have not been announced, from the prices of other dates, they'll likely be expensive.

Coldpay announces new 'Mylo Xyloto' dates, heading to Charlotte

British superstars Coldplay are coming back to the U.S. this summer in support of their latest album Mylo Xyloto. Unfortunately, as of now, they're opting to skip the Triangle this time.

The band will be heading to Charlotte though, playing the Time Warner Cable Arena on Tuesday, July 3. Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. on Saturday, January 21 via LiveNation/Ticketmaster outlets.

Tool announces winter tour, coming to Charlotte

Heavy prog rock mainstays Tool are hitting the road again this winter and will make their way to North Carolina.

While the band won't be playing the Triangle, they'll stop at the Bojangles Coliseum on Saturday, February 4. Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. on Saturday, January 7 via Ticketmaster for $40 to $65.

The band have reportedly been working on their fifth album for quite a while, but it has yet to surface. Check out the music video for the song "Schism" from their 2001 album Lateralus below.

[UPDATED] Red Hot Chili Peppers announces winter tour, 3 NC dates

Funky rocker the Red Hot Chili Peppers returned with their first new album in five years earlier this year titled I'm with You. The band will hit the road in early 2012 for a southeastern arena tour which will feature three North Carolina shows.

[UPDATE: The tour has been postponed until the spring because frontman Anthony Kiedis has had to undergo surgery to fix some foot problems. Tickets will be honored for the new dates, which have been updated below.]

First, we'll mention the Triangle show at the RBC Center in Raleigh on Friday, January 27 Wednesday, April 4. Santigold will open the show and the entire tour. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday, December 3 for $35.50 to $55.50.

Next, they'll play the Greensboro Coliseum on Tuesday, January 31 Monday, April 9. Tickets will go sale at 10 a.m. on Friday, December 3 for $35.50 to $55.50.

Foo Fighters extend fall tour, heading to Charlotte

The monstrous  rock band Foo Fighters released their seventh album Wasting Light in April and have been crisscrossing the globe since its release playing arenas, festivals and even some fans' garages. They've extended their U.S. tour this fall and will be coming to North Carolina.

They'll be playing the Time Warner Cable Arena in Charlotte on Tuesday, November 8. Social Distortion and The Joy Formidable will open the show. Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 15 via Ticketmaster and Livenation for $31.50 to $51.50.

Blink 182 & My Chemical Romance announce 2011 tour, coming to Charlotte

Goofy pop punkers Blink 182 are planning to release their first new album since 2003 sometime this summer, but they've already signed on to the 2011 Honda Civic Tour along with alt rockers My Chemical Romance.

Unfortunately, the tour will skip the Triangle, but for fans that are up for a drive, the bands will hit Charlotte's Verizon Wireless Amphitheater on September 20 and the Virginia Beach Amphitheater (which is now apparently called Farm Bureau Live) on September 19. Matt & Kim will open both shows. Tickets will go on sale to the general public on June 10 via the usual places.

On sale today: Pixies in Charlotte, Asheville & Demetri Martin in Raleigh

It's Friday, which means tickets go on sale today. Check out the details of the interesting on sales below.

First, tickets for the Pixies two North Carolina dates are officially on sale to the public today (July 9) at 10 a.m. Tickets for the Charlotte show on Thursday, Sept. 9 will be on sale here for $39 to $48. Tickets for the Asheville show on Sunday, Sept. 19 will be on sale here for $39 to $48.

Also, Demetri Martin tickets are available to the general public today (July 9) at 10 a.m. here for $32.75. A lot of tickets were likely grabbed during the pre-sale, which is over now, so grab your tickets before they're gone.

Pixies announce new dates, coming to Charlotte, Asheville

True indie rock royalty, the Pixies, have stayed fairly active since their reformed in 2004, playing shows each year. The band have added some new U.S. dates to their schedule that will bring them to North Carolina in September. Sadly, they won't be coming to the Triangle, but will be heading to Charlotte and Asheville.

They'll play Ovens Auditorium in Charlotte on Thursday, Sept. 9. Pre-sale tickets are available now via the band's pre-sale for $57, but a general on sale date is not available yet.

Raleigh and Charlotte Lilith dates canceled

If you bought tickets to either of Lilith Fair's North Carolina dates, you'll soon be receiving a little boost in your bank account in the form of a refund.

Lilith Fair organizers announced the cancelation of 10 tour dates today due to poor sales, including stops in Raleigh and Charlotte on August 4 and 6.

Refunds will be available at point of sale, and if you're like me and bought your tickets on sale for $10, look on the bright side — at least LiveNation won't be pocketing any service fees from your transaction.

Donald Fagan, Michael McDonald, Boz Scaggs headed to Raleigh, Charlotte

There's another new show slated for the new downtown Raleigh amphitheater and it's not a change of pace for the venue. Three aging singers, Donald Fagan (of Steely Dan), Michael McDonald and Boz Scaggs, are teaming up for a summer tour dubbed The Dukes of September Rhythm Revue.

The tour stops at the Raleigh Amphitheater on Saturday, August 28. Tickets for the show go on sale Friday, June 18 at 10 a.m. here.

The tour also stops in Charlotte at the Uptown Amphitheatre (now the Road Runner Mobile Amphitheatre) on Wednesday, August 25. Tickets for that show go on sale on Friday, June 18 at 10 a.m. too, right here.
