Chris Stapleton announces new spring 2016 tour dates

Rising country star Chris Stapleton has had a hell of year since the release of his acclaimed debut solo album Traveller. He won four Grammys, topped the Billboard 200 chart and appeared on SNL just to name a few highlights of the last year. Now he has announced some new spring tour dates that will bring him to the Triangle.

Stapleton will play Koka Booth Amphitheatre in Cary on Friday, May 20. Sam Lewis will open. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. today, March 18, via Etix for $43 to $50.

Beyoncé announces stadium tour, coming to Raleigh

Following her big Super Bowl halftime performance with Coldplay last night, R&B superstar Beyoncé has announced a big stadium tour this spring that will bring her to the Triangle.

Beyoncé's Formation Tour will come to Carter-Finley Stadium in Raleigh on Tuesday, May 3. Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. on Monday, February 22, via Ticketmaster for $40 to $275. Beyoncé's BeHive pre-sale starts at 10 a.m. on Monday, February 15.

Demi Lovato & Nick Jonas announce 2016 summer tour

Young pop stars Demi Lovato and Nick Jonas will team up for the Future Now tour next summer and on their extensive trek the pair will make a stop in the Triangle.

Lovato and Jonas will play the PNC Arena in Raleigh on Saturday, July 2. Tickets will go on sale on Saturday, November 7, via the venue box office and Ticketmaster. Folks with a Citi card will have access to a pre-sale starting at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, November 3.

Lovato just released her fifth studio album a earlier this month titled Confident. Check out the music video for the title track from the album below.

Boulevards signs with Captured Tracks, full-length coming in 2016

Raleigh R&B rising star Jamil Rashad, better known as Boulevards, dazzled a big crowd at CAM during Hopscotch last month (check out photos HERE). He released an EP a few weeks later, and now he has signed a deal that will see his first full-length hitting stores next year.

Boulevards has signed with the Brooklyn-based label Captured Tracks, home to indie acts such as Mac Demarco, DIIV and Wild Nothing. The label will release his full-length album sometime in 2016 and they are distributing his aforementioned self-titled EP released last month on vinyl, CD, cassette and digital. Boulevards will play Kings in Raleigh on Friday, November 27. T0W3RS will open. Tickets are on sale now via Etix for $10.

New music video from Phil Cook - "1922"

Singer-songwriter Phil Cook's triumphant new album Southland Mission has been out for a month now and now a new music video has been released for the album cut "1922."

The video is a montage of studio footage, live performance footage, behind the scenes footage and more. It really seems to capture the community nature that surrounds the album and its live performances. Check it out below.

Cook will play Cat's Cradle in Carrboro on Saturday, January 23. The Dead Tongues will open. Tickets are on sale now via Ticketfly for $12.

New music video from Rhiannon Giddens - "Black is the Color"

Carolina Chocolate Drop Rhiannon Giddens struck out on her own earlier this year with her first solo album Tomorrow is My Turn. She has now released a new music video for the album's seventh track, "Black is the Color." Check out the charming video below.

Giddens just played a big hometown show in Durham last week and there are no North Carolina dates currently on the books, but Giddens will be on the road supporting the album through the fall. Check out the dates below, the closest being in Richmond, VA on November 18.

Surfer Blood announces 2015 fall tour, coming to Raleigh

Florida indie rockers Surfer Blood released their third full-length album earlier this year titled 1000 Palms and they'll hit the road on an east coast tour in November in support of it.

The band will return to Kings in Raleigh on Saturday, November 28. Tickets are on sale now via Etix for $12.

Mary J. Blige announces fall tour, coming to Durham

Soul singer Mary J. Blige is hitting the road this fall on a short run of East Coast tour dates in support of her latest album The London Sessions and she will be making a stop in the Triangle.

Blige will play the Durham Performing Arts Center on Sunday, November 1. Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday, September 11, via the venue box office and Ticketmaster for $68.75 to $128.75. The venue and Ticketmaster pre-sale will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday, September 10.

New music video from Mandolin Orange - "Jump Mountain Blues"

Chapel Hill duo Mandolin Orange released their latest album Such Jubilee earlier this year via Yep Roc Records and now they have released a cool new music video for one of the tracks.

The animated video is for the song "Jump Mountain Blues." Check it out below.

The group's only upcoming North Carolina date as of now is at the J.E. Broyhill Civic Center in Lenoir on Saturday, November 7. Tickets are on sale now via Etix for $21.50 plus fees.

Justin Townes Earle announces 'Absent Fathers' fall tour

Singer-songwriter Justin Townes Earle released his sixth full-length album Absent Fathers earlier this year and he his heading out this fall on a big U.S. tour in support of it that will bring him back to the Triangle.

He will play the Haw River Ballroom in Saxapahaw on Monday, October 12. Tickets are on sale now via Ticketfly for $25.

Chance the Rapper announces Family Matters Tour

Up and coming Chicago rapper Chance the Rapper whose latest release, a collaborative album with Donnie Trumpet and The Social Experiment titled Surf, was just released a few months ago. He is hitting the road this fall on the Family Matters Tour that will stop in the Triangle.

He'll play The Ritz in Raleigh on Monday, November 9. D.R.A.M., Towkio and Metro Boomin will open. Tickets are on sale now via Live Nation for $39.50 ($53.38 with fees and tax).

Smallpools announce 2015 fall tour

Los Angeles pop rockers Smallpools just released their debut album earlier this titled LOVETAP!, but the band has been building buzz over the last few years. The band will hit the road in support of the album this fall and will come to the Triangle.

Smallpools will play the Cat's Cradle in Carrboro on Monday, October 12. Phoebe Ryan and Machineheart will open. Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. today, July 31, via Ticketfly for $20.

Here We Go Magic announces new album 'Be Small,' fall tour

New York indie rockers Here We Go Magic have just announced a new album on October 16 titled Be Small. A tour in support of the album will commence this fall and is currently scheduled to wrap up in the Triangle.

The band will play the Pinhook in Durham on Saturday, November 21. Tickets are on sale now via Ticketfly for $10.

Glen Hansard announces new solo album 'Didn't He Ramble,' fall tour

Singer-songwriter Glen Hansard, best known for starring in and writing and performing the music for the 2007 film Once, will release a new solo album this fall titled Didn't He Ramble. He'll hit the road on a North American tour staring in November that will bring him to the Triangle

Hansard will play the Durham Performing Arts Center on Friday, November 27. Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 17, via the venue box office and Ticketmaster for $30.50 to $50.50. A fan pre-sale began today, July 15, via Ticketmaster with the password WINNINGSTREAK.

Kodaline announces fall 2015 tour, coming to Carrboro

Irish rockers Kodaline released their sophomore full-length album Coming Up for Air earlier this year and the band will be coming stateside for a North American tour this fall.

The band will play the Cat's Cradle in Carrboro on Saturday, September 19. Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 10, via Ticketfly for $20.

Peaches announces first album in six years, fall tour

Canadian electronic musician, singer-songwriter and performance artist Merrill Beth Nisker, better known as Peaches, will release her first new album since in six years on September 25 titled Rub. The album will feature guest spots from Feist and Kim Gordon. Peaches will head out on tour in support of the album this fall.

The tour will stop at the Cat's Cradle in Carrboro on Wednesday, October 25. Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday, June 26, via Ticketfly for $18.

Lord Huron announces fall dates, coming to Raleigh

Indie folk band Lord Huron just released their sophomore full-length album, Strange Trails, earlier this year and the band has been touring constantly in support of it. They have just added a new round of U.S. dates in the fall that will bring them to the Triangle.

Lord Huron will play The Ritz in Raleigh on Monday, September 28. Tickets will go on sale at noon today, June 19, via Live Nation for $24.50.

Langhorne Slim announces new album 'The Spirit Moves,' extends summer tour

Langhorne Slim has become a regular visitor to the Triangle in recent years and he'll make another stop in the Triangle in September as part of his extended summer tour in support of his new album, The Spirit Moves, due out on August 7.

Langhorne Slim and the Law will play the Cat's Cradle in Carrboro on Friday, September 18. Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday, June 12, via Ticketfly for $16.

Titus Andronicus announces 'TMLT Around the World' tour

As we first told you last month, Titus Andronicus has joined the Merge Records family and will release their epic new album The Most Lamentable Tragedy via the label on July 28. Now the band has announced the TMLT Around the World tour in support of the album that includes the Triangle as the fourth stop on the jaunt.

The band will play the Cat's Cradle in Carrboro on Monday, September 14. Spider Bags and Baked will open. Tickets will go on sale at noon on Friday, June 5, via Ticketfly for $10.

In addition to announcing the tour, Titus Andronicus just released the music video for the second single from the album, "Fatal Flaw." Check it out below.

Of Montreal announces big summer/fall 2015 tour

Georgia indie pop band of Montreal just released a new album earlier this year titled Aureate Gloom and they have just announced a massive summer and fall tour in support of the album that will bring them to the Triangle.

The band will play the Lincoln Theatre in Raleigh on Tuesday, August 25. Mothers will open. Tickets are on sale now via Etix for $15.
