U2 chowed down on local barbecue before leaving Raleigh

U2 may have put on one hell of a show at Carter-Finley, but they're pretty crappy tippers.

One of the band's staff members contacted Debbie Holt of Cooper's BBQ in downtown Raleigh before they landed at RDU late Saturday afternoon, asking if she could cater the band's post-show spread before they left town.

"We close at 6 every day," Holt told the N&O. "But when U2 calls you, you do what you have to do, honey."

U2 at Raleigh's Carter Finley Stadium set list + videos

We didn't shell out the cash to go U2's show at Carter Finley Stadium tonight, but we've been following the happenings online and even parked across the way for a bit and heard "One," "Where the Streets Have No Name" and "Ultraviolet (Light My Way)" and "With or Without You." They all sounded massive.

Check out the set list below thanks to U2News. We'll scour the net for some quality videos and add them to the post once they hit YouTube and the like. Follow us on Twitter or check back later for updates.

[UPDATE: Added video of "One" after the break.]
[UPDATE: Added videos of "Sunday Bloody Sunday," "In a Little While," "Where the Streets Have No Name," "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For" and "Uprising" by opening act Muse.]
[UPDATE: Check out David Menconi's review for some insane comments on the traffic and parking situation.]

To gain access, you're supposed to sign up for the mailing list and you're supposed to receive a password. Once you have your unique password, go here to buy your tickets. There's a limit of 4 per person. Good luck!

[UPDATE: Okay, so after reading more details on U2.com, it seems that paid, long-time subscribers get access on day 1. Other paid subscribers get access on the morning of day 2. The third group of free/recent subscribers will get access in the afternoon of day 2or the morning of day. This is all confusing as hell, but I know some people have received their password to buy tickets and have done so. Good luck to everyone again.]

Confirmed: U2 to play Carter-Finley on Oct. 3

After what feels like months of anticipation, we finally have confirmation that U2 will play Raleigh's Carter-Finley Stadium on Saturday, October 3, 2009.

Tickets will go on sale next Friday, April 17, for $30, $55, $95 and $250 (if you want to smell Bono's sweat) via Ticketmaster.

Muse will open the show and, to be completely honest, it's possible I'm more excited about seeing them again than seeing U2. We caught them on tour in New York a couple years ago and it might be the best show I've ever seen.

See you in the cheap(ish) seats!
