It looks like the amazing Elvis Costello will return to Cary's Koka Booth Amphitheatre in June. The venue sent out an email last night saying that he'll play on June 14 and the show is billed as Elvis Costello and the Sugarcanes. The Sugarcanes are Costello's new acoustic band comprised of Jim Lauderdale, Jerry Douglas, Mike Compton, Stuart Duncan, Dennis Crouch, and Jeff Taylor. That's quite a line-up. It'll be interesting to see what the set lists look like for their shows.So far, a complete tour has not been confirmed, but the few dates I've found are listed below. According to Mike Compton's website, there will be a run of dates in June and August, though the cities and venues are not listed.
Tickets for the Koka Booth show will go on sale to the public next Friday, March 27 here with a pre-sale starting the previous day.
Costello last played the amphitheatre in September 2007 with the North Carolina Symphony. Check out our review of that show here.
