The Black Crowes & Tedeschi Trucks Band announce summer tour

Blues rock groups The Black Crowes and the Tedeschi Trucks Band are joining forces this summer to hit amphitheaters across on the east coast.

The pair will make a stop at the Red Hat Amphitheater in Raleigh on Tuesday, July 23. The London Souls will open. Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 12, via the Duke Energy Center box office and Ticketmaster.

The Black Crowes just released a four-disc live collection titled Wiser for the Time in March. Check out "Under a Mountain" from the collection below.

The Black Crowes announce massive tour, coming to Raleigh

In August, The Black Crowes will kick off a massive U.S. tour that will keep the band busy through December. The band have dubbed the tour "Say Goodnight to the Bad Guys," and say they'll be going on an indefinite hiatus when the tour wraps. The band will be playing 3 hours each night on the tour. There will be an hour and half acoustic set and an hour and a half electric set. That's quite a boon for loyal fans.

The tour will make it's way to Raleigh's new downtown Amphitheatre, currently being dubbed the Raleigh Amphitheatre and Festival Site until the naming rights have been finalized (rumor has it that a certain beverage company that used to sponsor a certain free downtown concert series is the frontrunner to get its name on the venue).

Black Crowes show not so intimate after all

A little over a month ago, we posted that the Black Crowes would be playing an intimate show on their upcoming tour at Lincoln Theatre. Well, it turns out the show is not going to be so intimate after all. Lincoln Theatre's schedule has finally been updated with the show and they note that the show will be outside on the Street Stage.

Buffalo Killer will open the show. Doors will be at 4PM and the show will start at 5PM. Tickets will go on sale on June 20 and will be $35 in advance and $40 on the day of the show.

The Black Crowes to play Lincoln Theatre

The Black Crowes have plotted a tour this fall that includes stops at a lot of small venues including Raleigh's Lincoln Theatre.

Last time The Crowes came through Raleigh, they were opening for Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers at Walnut Creek Amphitheatre in 2006. They headlined the venue themselves earlier in the 2006 season.

The Lincoln Theatre is a few steps down for The Crowes, but it'll be a great chance for their fans to see them up-close and personal on this tour.

The show at Lincoln Theatre will be Saturday, November 8 and tickets will go on sale June 20 at 10am. No word yet on ticket prices, but expect them to be a little steep.

Strokes out. Crowes in.

When Tom Petty announced the third leg of his North American tour, he was nice enough to make time to stop in Raleigh. Not only was he coming to Alltel Pavilion, but he was going to bring indie rock giants The Strokes with him.

Well that was then and this is now. After moving the date from September 19 to September 10, it turns out The Strokes can no longer make the gig.

Who has come to save the day? None other than The Black Crowes.

This will be Chris Robinson and the gang's second stop at Alltel this summer. They stopped through with Robert Randolph and the Family Band on July 12.

Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers plus The Black Crowes equals a night of rock 'n roll.

Tickets are still available for the show.
