Natalie Merchant to perform with NC Symphony in Raleigh

Singer-songwriter Natalie Merchant is set to come to Raleigh this spring for a special performance with the North Carolina Symphony. They'll perform songs from her latest album Leave Your Sleep as well as other selections from her catalog. The performance is one of only three shows she has scheduled so far this year.

The show will take place at Meymandi Hall at the Progress Energy Center on Tuesday, May 29. Tickets are on sale now via the venue box office and Ticketmaster for $28 to $79.

Natalie Merchant commands stage at DPAC

Natalie Merchant was in complete control on Monday night. Her voice, her music, her band, her stage and her audience were all at her whim.

Her voice, powerful and rich, filled the Durham Performing Arts Center. In person, her voice grabs you by the ear and demands attention.

Her music appeared to fuel her on stage. She’s constantly animating her songs with arm, leg and body motions as she dances across the stage and around the band. At times the movements turn into cues as she directs her band members. Her stage presence is commanding.

Natalie Merchant announces summer tour, playing Durham

Songwriter and former 10,000 Maniacs singer Natalie Merchant has announced a big summer tour stretching from mid-July to beginning of September. She's make a stop at DPAC in Durham towards the end of that run, on Monday, Aug. 30. Tickets for the show will go on sale Friday, May 21 here, but price points are not available yet. Prices will be $28 to $52.
