Mat Kearney announces new album 'Just Kids,' spring tour

Singer-songwriter Mat Kearney will release his fifth full-length album on February 24 titled Just Kids and he will hit the road on spring tour in 2015 in support of it.

Kearney will play The Ritz in Raleigh on Monday, March 30. Parachute and Judah and the Lion will open. Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday, December 5, via Ticketmaster for $25. Kearney's pre-sale will start at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, December 2, and a Live Nation will begin at 10 a.m. on Thursday, February 4. Every ticket order will include a download of the new album.

Train announces 2012 summer tour, coming to Raleigh

Pop rockers Train just released their sixth full-length album California 37 on Tuesday and now they've announced a big summer/fall tour in support of it.

The band will play the Raleigh Amphitheater on Friday, July 27. Singer-songwriter Mat Kearney will open. Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 28 via the big ticket outlets and will be available at the Progress Energy Center box office starting on Monday, April 30.

Mat Kearney announces winter tour, coming to Raleigh

Singer-songwriter Mat Kearney was just in the Triangle back in September after the elease his latest album Young Love, and when he hits the road in early 2012, his first stop will be in the Triangle once more.

He'll play the Lincoln Theatre in Raleigh on Thursday, January 19. Tickets will go on sale on Friday, December 2 via Etix for $20. An opening act(s) has not been announced yet.

Mat Kearney announces new dates, coming to Carrboro

Nashville-based singer-songwriter Mat Kearney will be spending much of the summer on the road in support of his 2009 album City of Black & White. He'll make his way to the Cat's Cradle on Thursday, July 29. Tickets for the show will go on sale on Friday, May 14 via etix for $20.

HopeFest goes free, drops two headliners

Organizers for Carolina HopeFest announced today that the show this Sunday at Booth Amphitheatre will be free. On the down side, Mat Kearney and Marc Cohn are no longer on the bill. Glen Phillips, who had been third runner up, will now headline.

The goal of HopeFest has been to raise money for Beacon of Hope, a group in Kenya that gives assistance to women with AIDS.

"We felt that we wanted to draw as big a crowd as possible in order to maximize awareness of the challenge in Africa," Jana Piepenbring, director of Carolina Hope, said in a statement. "It became obvious that the best way to do that would be to take some bold steps. Fortunately, because of the generosity of our presenting sponsor Lenovo, we are able to make this year's festival a free event and still make a meaningful contribution to the charity."

No word if the times on the schedule will change, but I'll let you guys know if I hear anything.

Mat Kearney to headline Carolina HopeFest

Carolina HopeFest, a concert raising money to fight AIDS in Africa, has announced its lineup.

Mat Kearney, Marc Cohn and Glen Phillips (of Toad the Wet Sprocket) are the big names at this year's show. Other artists include local favorite Thad Cockrell, Dereck Webb, Sandra McCracken and Mavuno (from Nairobi, Kenya).

HopeFest will be Sunday, Sept. 20 at Koka Booth Amphitheatre in Cary. Tickets are $35 for reserved seats, $20 for lawn and $10 for students, and will go on sale Aug. 25 through Ticketmaster and the venue box office.
