The xx announces short spring tour, coming to Raleigh

After wrapping an intimate 11-night residency at a 40-capacity venue in New York this month, British indie rockers The xx will hit the road on a short U.S. tour in April that will bring them to the Triangle.

The band will play the Lincoln Theatre in Raleigh on Wednesday, April 2. Presale tickets are on sale now via Etix for $26 (use the password "coexist").

The band's most recent album is 2012's Coexist, but the band contributed the song "Together" to The Great Gatsby soundtrack released last year. Check out the song below.

Does anyone know how this sold out on pre-sale? As soon as I got a notification from songkick on feb 12th, I went to the Lincoln Theater website and the show wasn't even listed. I also went to thexx.info and it said "on sale soon". I looked again on the 13th, same thing. Then on the 14th, thexx.info had a link to tickets but sold out.

yeah somehow the Lincoln theatre managed to put every ticket for sale during the presale and it sold out...it looks like half the tickets were bought by scalpers as a result. stubhub has 100 tix for sale for $100+ for the Raleigh show and barely any for any other show....big big fail by the venue on this one
