Future Islands announces new album 'Singles,' new spring dates

Regional favorites Future Islands will be in the Triangle this Wednesday (March 5) to play a sold out show with Wye Oak and Haw River Ballroom and they'll release their new album, Singles, on March 25. The band has added some new dates to their spring tour, which will bring them to the Triangle again.

The band will play the Cat's Cradle in Carrboro on Sunday, April 27. Ed Shrader's Music Beat and The Lollipops will open. Tickets are on sale now via Ticketfly for $16.

JKutchma & Spider Bags to headline Double Barrel Benefit

It's almost time for an annual tradition in the Triangle, WKNC's Double Barrel Benefit concert featuring two nights of fantastic local music. The shows will return to the Pour House in downtown Raleigh on February 1 and 2.

The Friday, February 1, lineup will feature JKutchma and The Five Fifths, Lilac Shadows, Jenny Besetzt and Lollipops. The Saturday, February 2, lineup will feature Spider Bags, Wesley Wolfe, Some Army and Oulipo. Check out more information and music from each of the bands HERE.

Tickets are on sale now via Ticketfly for $10 each night. Day of the show tickets will be $12.

Hopscotch 2012 Day 2: The Love Language, Lonnie Walker, The Lollipops

During the day on Friday, Hopscotch threw a big day party bash in front of the Contemporary Art Museum (CAM) in Raleigh headlined by The Love Language.

The band played a bunch of new material, presumably from their forthcoming album, as well as some classics with a new lineup that featured Ryan Gustafson on guitar, original drummer Tomas Simpson, and Mark Simonsen of The Old Ceremony on vibes as well as string and horn players.
