Duke Performances 2015-16 season announced, Nick Lowe, Patty Griffin, Rosanne Cash & many more

The Duke Performances Music in the Gardens series just kicked off last week and will feature fantastic performances through the end of July, but it's time to start looking forward to their big 2015-16 season which is packed with diverse artists.

The season will kick off on September 10 with Mahmoud Ahmed at Baldwin Auditorium and, over the course of the following seven months, will see the likes of Bettty LaVette, Rhiannon Giddens, The Fairfield Four, Hiss Golden Messenger, The King's Singers, Nick Lowe, Los Straitjackets, Rosanne Cash, Patty Griffin, Sara Watkins, Anaïs Mitchell, Peter Rowan Bluegrass Band, Hurray for the Riff Raff and Edgar Meyer, among many others. Shovels & Rope announces early 2014 dates, coming to Carrboro

South Carolina duo Shovels and Rope have been taking the world by storm as their star has continued to rise since the release of their latest album O' Be Joyful. They'll keep touring hard in early 2014 which will bring them to the Triangle for a big headline show.

The band will play the Cat's Cradle in Carrboro on Wednesday, March 5. Hurray for the Riff Raff will open. Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday, October 18 via Ticketfly for $14.

Shovels and Rope will also open for The Avett Brothers at their big New Year's Eve show at the Time Warner Cable Arena in Charlotte. Tickets are on sale via Ticketmaster for $39.50 to $59.50.
