LeRoi Moore injured in ATV accident

For any of you Dave Matthews Band fans heading out to Walnut Creek tonight for their annual shindig, I've got a bit of sad news.

LeRoi Moore, the group's saxophonist , was seriously injured in an ATV accident outside his Charlottesville home on Monday.

According to an announcement on the band's site,

LeRoi was immediately transported to the University of Virginia Health System for treatment where he remains in serious condition.

Jeff Coffin, saxophonist for Béla Fleck and the Flecktones, will be sitting in while LeRoi recovers. Quick healing, buddy!

iTunes Single of the Week: Holly Conlan, "You Are Goodbye"

This week's free single comes from Los Angeles singer/songwriter Holly Conlan. The song "You Are Goodbye" isn't a new tune though. The song comes from Conlan's 2007 EP, Bird.

"You Are Goodbye" is a beautiful, sparsely recorded track that features Holly's voice front and center. The song has a great melody and a melancholy vibe that ads to it's charm.

This one is for fans of Adele, Tori Amos or other mellow female singer/songwriters. It's worth checking out.

Hotels Lights second album due in August

It's been about four years since Hotel Lights (aka Darren Jesse) initially released his self-titled debut. In 2006 Bar None Records re-released or officially released the album depending upon how you see it.

Now, after all these years, the second record is done and it's called Firecracker People. Listen to the first track "Blue Always Finds Me" on Hotel Lights MySpace page. The melody is beautifully somber and the recording is brilliant. It's just great. Have a listen.

Firecracker People will be out on August 19 via Bar None Records. Pre-order the album here.

Here's the track list:
1. Blue Always Finds Me
2. Dream State Flying
3. Down
4. Flicker In My Eye
5. Amelia Bright
6. Firecracker People
7. Norina
8. Wedding Day
9. Chemical Clouds
10. Nobody Let You Down
11. Your Choices
12. Run Away Happy
