Ra Ra Riot announces fall dates, play Carrboro

Ra Ra Riot is hitting the road again this fall after spending the spring and summer playing shows with Death Cab For Cutie. The fall tour will bring Ra Ra Riot back to the Cradle on September 30. Maps & Atlases and Princeton will open the show and most of the tour. Tickets go on sale on Friday, June 19 for $12 via etix.com.

New Annuals video - "Wake"

Annuals have been a bit low-key lately, but they've just released a new animated video for the song "Wake" from their latest album Such Fun. It's an odd little video that I'm not going to attempt to explain. Check it out below.

In other Annuals news, the band posted a new song on their MySpace page a few weeks ago titled "The Giving Tree." The Kenny Florence fronted side project Sunfold also posted a new song on MySpace titled "Levels."

Annuals only have a few show coming up soon, but one is a big show at the North Carolina Museum of Art in Raleigh with The Old Ceremony on July 25. Tickets for the show are available here. Sunfold also has a local show coming up on June 26 at Local 506 with Hammer No More the Fingers, On Photon and Thoughtspeak. Tickets for that show are available via etix.com for $10.

The Pains of Being Pure at Heart announce fall tour, play Chapel Hill

New York's latest buzz-band, The Pains of Being Pure at Heart have announced new fall tour dates that will see the band traveling North America with Cymbals Eat Guitars and The Depreciation Guild. The tour is set to stop at Local 506 in Chapel Hill on September 29. Ticket information for the show is not available yet.

Join the Triangle Music Last.fm group

Here's a quick public service announcement for you on this dreary Tuesday afternoon. We've created a Triangle Music group on Last.fm. For those who don't know about Last.fm, it's essentially a site that allows you to track the music you listen to in iTunes or on your iPod and such. It collects the plays and creates charts of your favorite artists and songs. I've been obsessed with it since I joined in 2006.

The group will generate a weekly chart of the top songs and artists and will allow you to see what our readers have been listening to. Jenny Lewis plays to wall-to-wall crowd at the Cradle

Friday night brought California indie queen Jenny Lewis back to the Cradle. Carrboro was the band's final stop before hitting the massive Bonnaroo Festival in Tennessee on Saturday.

The crowd kept piling in during the two opening acts, Farmer Dave and Deer Tick (we'll get to them later), and by the time Jenny Lewis and her band took the stage, the crowd was at capacity and then some.
