[Update] The Fratellis Cradle show canceled

Bad news for local Fratellis fans. The band's show at the Cat's Cradle this Wednesday, October 1 has been canceled. The band were to be joined by The Airborne Toxic Event and Electric Touch. No reason has been given for the cancellation.

All tickets for the show will be refunded at the point of purchase. Tickets purchased via etix.com will automatically be refunded.

It was cool that a moderately popular UK band was going to play the area seeing as that doesn't happen often.

[UPDATE Sept. 30: According to a statement released on the band's website, the band has canceled their remaining US dates due to a death and have returned to Scotland. Our condolences to the band.]

The Fratellis announce tour, play Cradle

Scottish band The Fratellis, best known on this side of the Atlantic as the guys in the iPod commercials early last year, have announced a North American tour that includes a stop in the Triangle. The band will play the Cat's Cradle on October 1 with The Airborne Toxic Event and Electric Touch. Tickets for the show go on sale to the public on August 1 for $18 via etix.com.

The Fratellis are currently supporting their second album Here We Stand which was released in June.
