In June of 2009, New Zealand songwriter Chris Knox suffered a stroke at his home. Fellow musicians have rallied around Chris and Merge Records have/is releasing a two-disc album featuring some big indie artists covering his songs. Some artists include Portastatic, The Mountain Goats, Yo La Tengo, A.C. Newman, Lambchop and others. The record also features the elusive Jeff Magnum (of Neutral Milk Hotel) covering "Sign the Dotted Line."The album is titled Stroke: Songs For Chris Knox and is available digitally now and as a 2-disc set on February 23, 2010.
