Robert Randolph & the Family Band announces spring dates, coming to Raleigh

Robert Randolph and the Family Band are taking their funky, pedal steel driven grooves on the road this spring in support of their latest album We Walk This Road, released in 2010.

On their way back up from a few festival appearances in Texas and Louisiana, the band will stop at the Lincoln Theatre in Raleigh on Saturday, May 14. Tickets for the show are on sale now via etix for $22.

Stream new albums from Wye Oak & The Mountain Goats

Both Wye Oak and The Mountain Goats have new albums out via Merge Records in March and both of the those albums are available to stream in full now. And on top of that, each will play the Triangle soon.

Wye Oak is releasing Civilian on March 8 and you can stream the album now on NPR.org. The band will play Local 506 in Chapel Hill on Saturday, March 12 with Lower Dens.

The Mountains Goats, who were just on Letterman, will release All Eternals Deck on March 29. Stream the album now, also via NPR.org. The band will play the Cat's Cradle on Friday, April 8 with Megafaun. Tickets for this one are almost sold out, so get your ticket(s) if you want to go.

Sondre Lerche preps new album & tour, coming to Carrboro

Norwegian singer-songwriter Sondre Lerche is preparing to release a self-titled album, his sixth full-length (not counting the Dan in Real Life soundtrack), on June 7 via Mona Records and he'll hit the road with a full band to support it.

The tour will bring Lerche to the Cat's Cradle in Carrboro on Thursday, June 9. Tickets for the show will go on sale on Friday, March 4 via etix for $15.

March lineup of Local Band Local Beer at Tir Na Nog

March is here, the cold weather is passing and it's time for some more free shows at Tir Na Nog in Raleigh for the Local Band Local Beer series.

Things kick off on March 3 with a trio of up-and-coming North Carolina bands Troubel, The Charming Youngsters and Wind & Willow.

The rest of the month shakes out with The Loners, The Huguenots, I Was Totally Destroying It (they're really playing this time) and The Future Is Me. Check out the schedule as it stands now below. We'll update this post as the two TBA shows are announced (stay in the loop via Twitter).

Crash Test Dummies announce tour, coming to Carrboro

The distinct bass-baritone sound of Canadian band Crash Test Dummies is still going strong after over 20 years. They are best known for their quirky 1993 single "Mmm Mmm Mmm Mmm" which you can check out the video of below.

The group released their eighth full-length album Oooh La La! in 2010, and are hitting the road on a new U.S. tour to promote it.

The tour will stop at the ArtsCenter in Carrboro on Thursday, May 17. Ticket details are not available yet, but we'll keep you posted. Tickets for the show are available now via etix for $15.
